Is it Medical Tourism SAFE.  The 5 most important things you should know before you travel abroad for surgery.

  1. Make sure you are a candidate for surgery.   As you know, you will require certain preoperative exams before your surgery. Depending on your age, health, and the type of procedure you are undergoing, you may require simple tests like a blood exam and an electrocardiogram, or more in-depth analyses that could include a thorax X-ray, ultrasound, gastroscopy and an evaluation by a psychologist among other things.

Ideally you should try to get your tests done before leaving for your Medical Tourism Trip. This will allow your overseas physician to be absolutely sure that you are fit for your surgery. Finding out that you’re not a candidate for a hip replacement – after flying half way around the world, can be an emotionally devastating experience. The truth of the matter, however, is that many medical tourism patients will opt for the convenience and lower cost of getting their preoperative exams done at the international hospital.

  2. Choose your Surgeon wisely. When you choose to have medical surgery abroad, no factor is more essential to the ultimate success of your result than the level education,  professional skill and judgment of your surgeon. You must have absolute confidence in the ability, artistry, and experience of your plastic surgeon.

The Medical Staff at Beverly Hills Medical Group are Board certified in their specialties and are one of the best educated, trained and highly skilled practitioners in Asia; most if not all have graduate medical training in the US, Singapore, Japan, Australia, or in Europe making them among the most capable physicians in the world.

  3. Another important factor in the ultimate success of your surgery is where the surgery is actually performed.  Make sure you do your research to make sure the medical facility is fully accredited and licensed and meets the highest standards of patient safety.

Beverly Hills Medical Group is the largest and only U.S. based, managed and operated state of the art Ambulatory Multi-Specialty Surgery Center in Asia. A premier world-class medical facility, BHMG is amongst the largest, most trusted, and internationally accredited to U.S. Healthcare Standards. Developed by its Beverly Hills based corporation, Beverly Hills Advanced Surgery Institute (BHASI) has been regularly featured in Dr 90210, Extreme Makeover, Discovery Channel and The Lifetime Channel. BHASI Surgeons have been guest contributors on Oprah, The Tyra Banks Show, Montel Williams, Extra, Inside Edition, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and CNN’s Larry King Live.

  4. Choose wisely, do not take the lowest cost provider seek the very best medical travel value based on safety and quality.

  5. Know your cancellation policy talk with your particular hospital or medical tourism facilitator for full cancellation policy details, particularly if you are dealing with lesser known or non-accredited medical providers.
